The Canovanas Chupacabras overcame a fine performance by Juncos center fielder Jorge Picazo to defeat the Valencianos, 8-7, at Coliseo de los Valencianos. Picazo was 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. The Chupacabras have now won 4 straight.

Canovanas used the clutch hitting of Dionisio Quintana to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Chupacabras ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Canovanas manager Alejandro Estrada.
