Bards Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
With starter Alistair Oakley leading the charge, the Belfast Bards defeated the Wrexham Druids, 6-4, in Game 2 of the Championship of the British Isles today. The right-hander threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball at Bards Park to help Belfast take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Cathmor Stewart hit a 2-run double off David Hamilton in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Bards in front, 6-4. In addition to the double, Stewart had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"We haven't stopped playing," Wrexham manager Cecilio Solís said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 10th , 1897 at Wrexham Stadium in Wrexham.
