Roaches Clip Lavender Stockings 7-6 in CCS Contest
With center fielder Roberto Gómez leading the charge, the Nacogdoches Roaches got a road win over the Luling Lavender Stockings, 7-6, in Game 2 of the Circuit Championship Series today. Gómez went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs at Lavender Stockings Park to help Nacogdoches force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Nacogdoches used the clutch hitting of Jason Teal to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Roaches ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We found a way to get it done," Gómez said.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Roaches Field in Nacogdoches.
