The Luling Lavender Stockings got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Luis Domínguez, as Luling won the contest, 4-2, at Lavender Stockings Park. Domínguez threw 9.0 innings allowing 2 runs in the win, which allowed the Luling to grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Serafín Soto put Luling in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Lavender Stockings went on to win the ballgame.

"We're happy," Domínguez told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lavender Stockings Park in Luling.
