Despite a great performance by Gurabo catcher Gumersindo López, the San Lorenzo Samaritanos defeated the Tainos by the score of 8-7 at Estadio de San Lorenzo. López was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. San Lorenzo reliever Raúl Arévalo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Avelino Flores shouldered the loss. The loss has the Tainos at 17-13.

Judá Madrigal was the walk-off hero for San Lorenzo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Samaritanos second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Madrigal. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
