Citricos Ruiz Stops Cafeteros
The Las Marias Citricos shut out the Maricao Cafeteros 7-0 today behind the strong pitching of Julio Ruiz. Ruiz surrendered only 4 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 1.

Following the last out, Ruiz appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Maricao manager Ernesto Camarillo, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken left-hander as the clubs left the field. Ruiz's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.

The Cafeteros skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Citricos press conference, Ruiz confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.

"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Ruiz said.

"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Las Marias manager Cenón Yepes added.

This year Ruiz has recorded a 6-5 mark. In 11 starts he has fanned 19 batters in 88.2 innings with a 2.64 ERA.
