Monty Brisson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Thurso Bucherons from losing, 8-6, to the Laval Insulaires at Insulaires Field. Brisson went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. At 62-39, the Insulaires are currently first in the Ligue de Baseball du Québec Division Sud.

Tied up with the Bucherons in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Insulaires got a boost from catcher Bob Corrigan. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Corrigan saw a first pitch changeup from Patrick Chauvet and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Laval on top, 6-5.

"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Corrigan.
