Fourches Beat Supercalenders, 2-1
|
The Levis Fourches picked up a win at Ballpark of Lachute, knocking off the Lachute Supercalenders, 2-1. On the mound for Levis was right-hander Chet Batten, who played a pivotal role in the win. Batten went the distance for Levis. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. The win makes Levis 20-30.
It could have been a different outcome for Levis, had it not been for Bill Shearing, the 25-year old center fielder . Shearing contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Levis up, 2-1.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Batten said.
