Tessier was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Bill Drier. He tossed 140 pitches over 9 innings, allowing 4 runs on 12 hits. Markham now has a 3-game win streak.

Porter Balaski, the 22-year veteran , had a direct impact on the outcome. Balaski contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Markham up, 5-2.
