Rapids Earn 9-8 Win Versus Meteors
Rapids Grounds was the site of quite a ballgame.

The Sault Ste. Marie Rapids trumped the Sudbury Meteors, 9-8, at Rapids Grounds. Sault Ste. Marie catcher Stephen Kreamer was terrific. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Sault Ste. Marie reliever George Wills picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Tim Alldritt absorbed the loss.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Kreamer hit a cutter from Tim Alldritt for a run-scoring single. The Rapids, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Sudbury manager Richard Tanton. "But we decided not to take it."

Sault Ste. Marie now has a record of 48-34 with the win.
