Eugenio García sparked his Artemisa Rojos past the pesky Matanzas Henequeneros in a closely-contested Campeonato Interdivisional.

Artemisa topped Matanzas 12-9 at Campo de los Henequeneros to decide the series, 3-1

For his efforts, García was rewarded with the series MVP trophy for his .429 batting average, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"You never want to leave anything on the field," García said. "You never want to miss a play of defense you could have made, or give up an extra base you could have gotten, because in a series this tight you never know what you'll need to win."

The Artemisa Rojos will play against the Holguin Pericos in the next round. Holguin won their series against the Cienfuegos Elefantes 3 games to 0. The Campeonato Nacional de Cuba schedule will be announced after the Campeonato Interdivisional finishes.
