Chicago Breaks Through for First Win in World Series; Now Trails 3-1
Allen Pitts was not about to watch an opponent celebrate a championship on his home field.

The right-hander pitched the Chicago Colts to victory at West Side Grounds 1894-1915 today, staving off the Louisville Colonels, who remain one game away from a title. Pitts threw 9.0 innings allowing 1 runs. The win cuts the series deficit for the Colts to 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at West Side Grounds 1894-1915 seemed to enjoy watching the National League action.

"We were a little off-kilter to start the series, but we're getting things figured out now," Chicago manager Cherokee Fisher told reporters. "At least I hope we are."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at West Side Grounds 1894-1915 in Chicago.
