Privateers Hammered by Hicks, Drop Game 2 to Insulaires
With right fielder Ryan Hicks leading the charge, the Laval Insulaires defeated the visiting Sherbrooke Privateers, 9-4, in Game 2 of the Association Series today. Hicks went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 at Insulaires Field to help Laval force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Pierce Durdle barreled up a fastball from Stan Dixon. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Insulaires in front, 4-1.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Durdle said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, August 27th , 1897 at Privateers Park in Sherbrooke.
